This company is expanding its leadership team and seeking a Director of Business Development to drive revenue strategy, lead sales execution, and accelerate market expansion.

Role Overview

The Director of Business Development will own the sales strategy, lead the sales function, and collaborate closely with marketing leadership to drive integrated growth initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep experience in marketing services, a proven track record of building and scaling revenue pipelines, and the ability to lead teams while remaining hands-on with key accounts.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Revenue Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with organizational growth goals.
  • Identify new markets, verticals, and customer segments to expand revenue opportunities.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive positioning, and customer behavior to guide strategic decisions.

Team Leadership & Sales Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Set clear sales targets, monitor performance, and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, prospects, and strategic partners.

Marketing Alignment & Demand Generation

  • Partner closely with marketing leadership to design integrated campaigns that drive lead generation and customer acquisition.
  • Ensure tight alignment between sales and marketing to maximize funnel efficiency and conversion.
  • Leverage CRM and analytics tools to measure campaign performance and optimize sales processes.

Operational & Financial Management

  • Develop and manage the sales department budget with a focus on ROI and resource efficiency.
  • Monitor expenses and ensure alignment with profitability goals.
  • Prepare regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and executive-level presentations.

Training, Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Implement ongoing training programs to elevate sales capabilities and performance.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in sales and marketing.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 15–20+ years of progressive experience in sales and marketing, including 10+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success driving revenue growth within a marketing, advertising, or digital services environment.
  • Strong understanding of market research, sales planning, and customer relationship management.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, analytics tools, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment with shifting priorities.

Compensation & Benefits
